Did anyone get that^^^??? I’ll give you some time to think about that quote… it might give away my age 😉
Intimidation
Unfortunately, lack of knowledge, therefore feeling vulnerable in the gym seems to be the number one biggest reason people don’t stick to a work out schedule. Second, to lack of motivation! So, I highly suggest that if you are one of those people that either feels intimidated or simply doesn’t know where to start or how to move forward, ASK SOMEONE! Trainers, people who you look up to in the gym or even the person using the machine you do not understand.
‘You are LITERALLY in a place filled with people ITCHING and DYYYING to give you their two cents and know it all.’
Do not be ashamed, this is a safe place. Although it may not always feel that way, with all the “show offs,” trust me when I say, their day would be made if you asked them for help. In fact, validated! You would basically be telling them what they’ve known all along… Duh, that they’re the most magnificent gym God on the plant!. LOL… So why not grease their motor and learn a thing or two while you are at it, win win.
Where else can you find people that actually want to help and see you succeed {not many other places can say the same} crazy concept, I know. But it’s your lucky day, so take advantage. Most places also offer a free training session, so although you may not be intending to continue with personal training, at least their knowledge will be a great place to start and learn. Not allowing yourself to better your own life for the fear that people will judge you is not only counter productive but a sad way to live life. {Yes, Yes, Yes, I know there are always going to be some jerky people who judge simply to judge, but generally those people are fighting their own battles, so just say a little prayer for them and keep on doing your thang. Everyone started somewhere, just remember that. Do not put your goals on hold out of fear. Fear should never dictate your life in any situation.
